Fired from her government job, Tracy Brandt adds to her troubles by making threats against her boss. She's so interested in a Navy ship that the situation comes to the attention of the OMEGA agency. Assigned to investigate, Andrew McDowell finds a grief-stricken woman who hopes to fulfill the dying wish of her adoptive uncle by solving the mysterious death of a '40s band singer he was in love with. In Closer Encounters (4), part of her Codename: Danger series, Merline Lovelace does a terrific job of intertwining a 65-year-old mystery with present-day action. Add a touch of the paranormal, and the result
is a fresh and entertaining story.
