Canine trainer Kit O'Halloran knows that her latest group of four Lab puppies is extremely smart, but she
has no idea how special they truly
are. Genetically enhanced Baby, Butch, Sundance and Diesel are part of a secret government experiment. Like the puppies, Wolfe Houston has also been specially enhanced. Part of the secret Foxfire team, he goes on missions that no one else can handle.

Regrettably, one of Foxfire's original members, Gabriel Cruz, has now gone psycho and rogue. He's heading for Kit and her dogs. Selling one of these dogs and their trainer will rake in huge bucks, but Wolfe is not about to let that happen, even though it means going against an old friend. But Kit is one stubborn and determined woman, and keeping her safe without divulging governmental secrets is going to be tough.

Who can possibly resist the mix of super-smart puppies and romantic suspense? Who could possibly do it better than Skye? The Code Name series is incredibly inventive and not to be
missed. (Nov., 384 pp., $6.99)
