There is a serial killer loose in New Orleans who calls himself The Chosen One. He is sure no one sees him and that his crimes are undetected. That isn't quite true, for Olivia Bechet sees him—but only in her dreams.

Det. Rick Bentz heads the force searching for the killer. With no leads to go on, he reluctantly turns to Olivia, who has reported her visions to the police. Cynical and weary, he has difficulty swallowing Olivia's story but eventually sees truth in it.

Working together, Olivia and Rick close in on the killer but risk making themselves targets. Unfortunately, The Chosen One has already begun to destroy someone else close to Rick and to expose secrets from his past as well.

Taking up where last years phenomenal Hot Blooded left off, COLD BLOODED is a tight, romantic, edge-of-your-seat thriller. Ms. Jackson further teases us by telling the reader that she will finish off any loose threads—next year in her follow up. (Jun., 464 pp., $6.99)
