Patricia Davids pens a captivating tale about the Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard. Sergeant Lindsey Mandel plans to display her now-quadriplegic brother's horse, Dakota, at an upcoming inauguration in Washington, D.C. But while training, both Lindsey and Dakota are seriously injured. Vet Brian Cutter is unsure whether the horse will heal in time, and Lindsey's nerve damage causes her to lose feeling in her hand and fingers.
