COLORADO ABDUCTION (2) by Cassie Miles: There's been a streak of malicious mischief on the Carlisle Ranch, but this last bit of arson coincides with the kidnapping of Nicole Carlisle and the apparent rise of a two-bit survivalist compound on the adjoining ranch. Carolyn Carlisle comes back to the ranch to support her brother and deal with FBI agent and hostage negotiator J.D. With a lot of suspects, Burke has his hands full as he tries to keep them off the sexy firebrand in the center of the mystery. Though the basic concept of Miles' story is solid, the follow-through is weak. There's not enough exposition for readers to connect with the characters.
