Oh, the tangled webs Bardsley weaves in her newest addictive romp. Vampire heroine Phoebe has enough on her plate even before she collides with secretive and sexy Connor. Phoebe, who narrates her tale in the first person, is funny but able to kick butt when it counts, like all Bardsley heroines, so the action and humor are bountiful. Tremendous fun as always!

Divorced mom Phoebe Allen juggles being a vampire with raising her 4-year-old son. Thankfully, Danny is on a trip with his father when hell breaks loose. Phoebe can summon demons, yet she never saw the Connor complication coming.

Sexy Connor Ballard is half-demon, and the spectacularly sexy night he spent with Phoebe has resulted in their being mated. Connor initially pursued Phoebe because she may be the key to stopping his evil stepmother Lilith in her plan to break out of hell and wreak destruction. To save Broken Heart, Phoebe is going have to work with Connor -- but can she trust him with her heart? (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Jan., 320 pp., $6.99)
