Durst’s latest is everything that a paranormal novel should be: mysterious, romantic and magical. Eve is resourceful and brave despite her lack of memory, and her romantic interest is delightful — the antithesis of the brooding heroes so common in the genre. A delight!
Eve doesn’t remember anything: not her house, her friends or her family. All she knows is that she is a witness to a supernatural serial killer, under the protection of the government until she can identify them. All of this is further complicated by the nightmares that plague her and the boy at the library who makes her forget to feel different.
