The final book in Quinn’s Children of the Mist series is Scottish romance at its best: captivating, tender and sensual with characters readers care about. While fascinating as a romance, it also delivers a message about moral courage. Definitely a keeper.

Colin MacGregor is in the service of King James, now in the guise of Jacobite spy Colin Campbell. While spying on Lord Denton, he meets Lady Gillian Dearly, Denton’s cousin, and learns she has been banished, because she had a child out of wedlock. Gillian’s only desire is escape. Upon meeting Colin, Gillian experiences an unexpected attraction. Their relationship, and the knowledge that Prince James’ troops are en route, make it imperative that Colin smuggle Gillian and her son back to his home. (FOREVER, Jun., 384 pp., $7.99)
