by Michele Scott

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

It's a toss-up whether to keep reading or to start cooking the mouthwatering recipes included in this book. Either option would be rewarding. Scott's mystery is light but satisfying, and her characters are likable and multifaceted. This is a story to sink your teeth into.

Spa and winery manager Nikki Sands is excited to be moving in with Derek Malveaux, her boss. And once again Nikki's nosy nature lands her in the middle of a murder investigation. Derek's brother railroads Nikki into being an event coordinator for an organization devoted to helping people live enlightened lives. When one of its members dies tragically on an outing aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train, Detective Robinson asks for Nikki's help to find the killer. The closer Nikki gets to solving the case, the more nervous the killer becomes. Will Nikki be the next one who is permanently corked? (BERKLEY PRIME CRIME, Feb., 260 pp., $7.99)
