CORPSE IN THE CRYSTAL BALL
by Kari Lee Townsend

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Corpses, crystal balls and a curiously magical cat keep the action moving in this second Fortune Teller Mystery, as Sunny Meadows continues stirring up tea leaves and trouble in the small town of Divinity. The tone of the novel is lively and humorous and the addition of Granny Gert is a definite plus. Strong plotting carries the novel through to a nail-biting conclusion where a crystal ball brings the killer’s identity into focus and places Sunny in extreme danger.

Fortuneteller Sunny Meadows is finally feeling at home in Divinity. Her feelings for police detective Mitch Stone are still uncertain, but when Mitch’s ex-fiancée comes for a visit, intent on winning Mitch back, Sunny finds herself surprisingly jealous. She performs a crystal ball reading for her and realizes the beauty is hiding a few secrets. Later the woman is found bludgeoned to death in the woods with a message implicating Mitch scrawled in the dirt. Sunny believes Mitch is innocent and agrees to assist the police in their investigation. When normal investigative techniques such as breaking and entering and flirting with a suspect fail, Sunny uses her real powers and her crystal ball to uncover the identity of a cold-blooded killer.
