THE COST OF HER INNOCENCE (3) by Jacqueline Baird: Beth Lazenby’s time in prison for a crime she didn’t commit has made her stronger — until the day she meets the lawyer who put her away, turning her world upside down. Dante Cannavaro must be under a spell; he should despise the ex-con he put away. But he can’t ignore their intense attraction, and after he acts on it, his life changes forever. Baird’s premise is edge-of-the-seat enthralling from the very first page, but her couple’s actions sometimes prove contradictory to their characters, which initially makes the romance problematic. However, she manages a great turnaround.
