COURSE OF ACTION
COURSE OF ACTION (4) by Lindsay McKenna & Merline Lovelace: In McKenna’s “Out of Harm’s Way,” the first of two military-themed stories, Navy SEAL sniper Travis Cooper rescues kidnapped horse breeder Madison Duncan from the Taliban and leads her to safety. An instant connection forms between them, but are their feelings just the after-effects of the events in Afghanistan or the real thing? In “Any Time, Any Place,” by Lovelace, Air Force Master Sergeant Duke Carmichael and civilian analyst Anna Solov go undercover as a married couple on a mission to stop a Russian terrorist. Duke is taken with Anna and, despite her initial resistance, feelings ignite between them. Strong storytelling and heated passion within a world of military ops are at the heart of these stories. Add to that four strong, sympathetic main characters and you wind up with one great read.
