RT Rating

Galenorn never shies away from forcing her protagonists into dealing with devastating emotional or physical blows in her Otherworld series, but this novel really tests Camille D’Artigo’s limits. Dire events are in the offing and this story is jam-packed with edgy thrills and horrifying danger. It is tough to keep up the intensity level in a long-running series; Galenorn has no such problem, as this terrific tale aptly demonstrates!

Upon her return from the Northlands, Camille doesn’t even get a chance to get inside her home before she is called away to a new crisis. A message has been sent warning Camille that her dragon father-in-law Hyto is hunting her and is determined to destroy both Smoky and herself. Events quickly deteriorate when the D’Artigo sisters’ friend and ally Chase is snatched through an otherworld gateway. As Camille and Delilah try to rescue Chase, they learn of more trouble brewing. Then the unthinkable happens and Camille is captured by Hyto. It will take all the emotional and physical strength Camille possesses if she is to survive the degradation and torture Hyto has planned. Can Camille’s sisters, husbands and friends find her in time? (JOVE, Nov., 336 pp., $7.99)
