Book Review

by Wanda E. Brunstetter

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

The strong spiritual element is perfectly evidenced in the characters' consistent, loving Christian attitudes, even when it is met with hostility. Brunstetter kicks off the Indiana Cousins series and demonstrates how God can help flawed Christians deal with devastating situations.

After Loraine's courtship
with Jake Beechy ends, she becomes betrothed to Wayne Lambright. Then Loraine's life, as well as the lives of many of her friends, is forever changed
in the blink of an eye.

Wayne is willing to give up Loraine, since he believes she could have a better life with Jake, who has recently returned to town. But Loraine is determined to change Wayne's mind, even though Ada, his mother, is vehement that he would be better off with someone else. Can a series of events between Ada and Loraine bring them closer and change Ada's opinion, or will Loraine and Jake recapture the love they once shared? (BARBOUR, Mar., 288 pp, $10.97)
