This tension-filled story entices from the first page. Milchman sets the scene and its haunting quality makes this a hard book to put down. The plot will keep you guessing and the characters are engaging. Readers will be anxious to see what Milchman thinks up next, after this wonderful first book.

Nora Hamilton’s life seems to be going well. She is in love with her husband and happy in the remote Adirondack village where they live. But one morning, her life takes a horrible turn. Nora awakens to find her policeman husband, Brendan has committed suicide. Nora knows he would not do this and almost immediately is faced with pieces that don’t add up.
