There is a lot going on in this book. It begins slowly but does pick up. It is surprising to see some some familiar characters and a familiar town from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series in this book. That is where the similarities end.
Jim is the hero in this tale of good versus evil. He is chosen to save the world and is dropped into the mix without his knowing. Once he does know, he is unsure how to proceed.
Vin and Marie-Terese are in need of saving. Marie-Terese's troubles are somewhat obvious although Ward throws in a twist as to who the immediate threat is to her.
Overall, I enjoyed this book but I would have liked more action. I would give give this book a 3.5.
