Attempting to prove herself to her domineering family, Melanie McFarlane spends her own money to transform a working ranch into a guest-friendly facility, and she offers rancher Russ Chilton a partnership in exchange for his help. Melanie also wants Russ to pretend to be her husband. They make a deal, eventually, but Russ insists on really getting married, which is the first of many surprises! Allison Leigh wraps up Montana Mavericks: Striking It Rich with A Cowboy Under Her Tree (3), a character-driven story with a credible conflict. The only problem is buying into the convenient marriage.
