THE COWBOY’S TRIPLETS (2) by Tina Leonard: What could have been a fun family tale turns into a convoluted mess with too many characters, a shifting and undefined storyline and unrealistic dialogue. When Pete Callahan’s aunt plots to marry off at least one of the Callahan brothers, he figures he has a head start given his long-term, but secretive relationship with Jackie Samuels, until she breaks up with him. When she learns she’s pregnant, nothing will stop Pete from claiming what’s his — not his brothers, his interfering aunt, the mystery surrounding his parents’ death or an intriguing Gypsy who’s taken up with his family’s enemy.
