When a man distraught by his wife's death takes hostages at city hall, SWAT paramedic Anna Carson joins the rescue effort without hesitation. The police chief is grateful for her help, as
is most of the staff. Only the SWAT team commander Flint Mauro is adamantly opposed. Flint's reasoning is simple: Anna is woman, she's brand new to
the team—and she's also his ex-fiancé. Crossfire (4) by B.J. Daniels has a complex plot and nail-biting suspense. The hero and heroine's memories from their early dating years are intermingled deftly with the present-day, high-tension plot twists. This is a solid, well-written novel that displays strong emotions in multiple viewpoints.
