Book Review

CRUSADE
by Taylor Anderson

Genre: Science Fiction, General Science Fiction

RT Rating

This combination of military sci-fi and alternate-world thriller, Destroyermen, book two, picks up where book one ends, but newcomers will have no trouble grasping the plot. Descriptions and action-packed battle scenes add depth to a fast-paced plot. The two non-human races are well thought out, and there's enough twists to keep the pages turning.

Pursued by the Japanese
during a World War II battle in the Pacific, two American destroyers head into a squall and end up in an alternate world. The ships are separated, and Lt. Commander Matthew Reddy and his crew land in the midst of a war between two species, the peace-loving Lemurians and the vicious Grik. When the ships are reunited, Reddy believes they can help the Lemurians make a stand against their enemies. But he and his crew are unaware that a Japanese battleship came through the rift and is in the hands of the Grik. (ROC, Oct., 400
