RT Rating

Sorensen gives the reader a nice little whodunit and love story all wrapped up in one great package. It’s like getting two books for the price of one. Her style of writing flows smoothly, and her way with words will keep you enthralled. It is hard to believe that this is her debut novel; you’ll look forward to more books from this talented author.

Cassandra Martin has a secret that she keeps from the world: her husband abuses her. After he dies in a plane crash, Cassandra buries him, sells her belongings and sets out to see the world. On a cross-country flight, she spills wine on handsome CEO Edward Baker. After a flirtation on the flight, Cassandra continues on her travels not knowing that Edward is looking for her. She eventually turns up as a weekend guest at his family’s winery. Although a 20-year age gap separates the two, they fall in love. Unfortunately, a murder, some embezzling and annoying paparazzi threaten their love. (CHALET PUBLISHERS, Nov., 260 pp., $16.95)
