In A Cry in the Dark (3), Jenna Mills tells the story of Danielle Caldwell, a woman of gypsy background whose son is kidnapped. FBI special agent Liam Brooks' wife was murdered years ago by the same super-criminal who now has Danielle's son. Liam insists on helping Danielle, despite her fear that the FBI's activities will endanger her son. This novel launches a series about Danielle's family, but the relationships need development. There's a paranormal aspect, which is interesting, but the plot is overly elaborate and somewhat confusing. Too much internal dialogue and past action slow the story.
