Hands down the most intriguing character in Douglas’ hot and sexy DemonSlayer series has been Willow/Bumper, the sprite stuck in the body/consciousness of a dog. In this fourth installment of the series, Willow’s destiny takes another unusual turn. The storyline splits in two, bringing back beloved characters along the way. Douglas does an excellent job as this climactic clash heads toward a resounding conclusion!

Lemurian Taron has always been more scholar than warrior, but with the Demon King breaking through to this dimension, Taron must learn to work in concert with his sentient sword CrystalFire. A clash with the Demon King has unexpected results, for when Taron and Willow/Bumper’s magic collide, Willow is transformed into a beautiful full-sized woman, with the consciousness of the dog within her. Sadly the Demon King also manages to take over the body of Ed Marks. Simultaneously disaster has befallen Eddy Marks, who is now trapped in the Void. Can her lover, ex-demon Dax, find a way to rescue Eddy and her sentient sword DarkFire? It’s up to Taron and Willow to stop the Demon King. (ZEBRA, Apr., 368 pp., $6.99)
