Book Review

by Gail Carriger

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

Carriger’s second Finishing School title moves quickly, but without losing the nimble wit, charm and romance that made the first book so appealing. The steampunk genre is better off for having this series, and readers will be clamoring for more.

Sophronia and the rest of the gang are back aboard the enormous dirigible that serves as Madame Geraldine’s school, where lessons on the supernatural, espionage and the gentlewomanly arts continue as Sophronia further explores the mystery of the crystalline valve. With evaluations looming, everyone is nervous. When a shocking announcement sends the school into a tizzy (London! And boys!) Sophronia will have to untangle a wicked web of conspiracies that threatens her friends. She’ll have to protect her own heart as well.
