Camille believed she had a nice, safe life—an adorable adopted son, volunteer work, strong family ties—until Michael D'Alessandro steps into her life. She feels instant chemistry, yet he blows hot and cold—and he's probing her about her former marriage. Michael's still recovering from a one-two punch: first he found out his ex-wife is dying and then she told him that four years ago she had given birth to D'ALESSANDRO'S CHILD (2) and put the baby up for adoption. Now he has found Camille, the adoption mother, and is having trouble ignoring his feelings for her. Catherine Spencer tackles a difficult storyline but the heroine is too childish and immature and the hero too emotionally unpredictable.
