This is a lovely story in which the warmth of a caring family willing to sacrifice for one another is agreeably depicted. It moves quickly, and the description of the ballroom dancing really brings it to life. It's not until the end that you realize that you didn't really get to know the characters well at all.

When a ballroom dancing competition comes to Misty Creek, Ky., it's obvious the goal is to make fun of the town's rednecks in a reality TV spoof. Abby is fit to be tied when she is suggested as one of the contestants, until she discovers the first prize is $50,000. She decides its time to get out of her rut, especially after she meets her dance partner, Rio Martin, a ballroom dance champion from Mexico City. He's also upset when he discovers the contest is a spoof, but as things progress, Rio, Abby and the other contestants are determined to make this reality show real.
