Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: Texas, 1872

RT Rating

Prim Philadelphian Verena Howard, travelling to San Angelo, Texas, to settle her father's affairs, meets Matthew Morgan, a gambler running for his life.

Matthew is handsome and debonair, with a smile as wicked as sin. Knowing the dangers involved in a female traveling alone, Matthew decides to accompany this innocent, helpless schoolmarm. Well, maybe not so helpless, because her contrariness is enough to stop a man dead in his tracks.

Verena tries to heed her mother's warnings about handsome men, but her heart keeps getting in the way even though she knows this gambling rogue is not the marrying kind. Added to this, the legacy Verena's father leaves her might just get them both killed.

Delightfully funny and heartwarming, DANGEROUS is fast paced and filled with witty dialogue, laugh-out-loud escapades; a gem of a book from this versatile storyteller. SENSUAL (Sept., 400 pp., $5.99)
