Book Review

THE DANGEROUS BARON LEIGH
by Emily Hendrickson

Genre: Regency Period, England

RT Rating

Emily Hendrickson colors her new Regency period piece with her usual elegant excellence as two former lovers find happiness together at last.

She should have expected to find him there. But after years of trying to avoid the man she once loved but rejected, the older and wiser Lady Jocelyn cannot help but rejoice at seeing Peter, the new Baron Leigh, at her cousins house party. Of course it is far too late to resurrect their previous relationship

Or is it? Her heart says no, even as her brain is convinced that he could not possibly still be interested in her. But when a family heirloom disappears, they are thrown into close partnership to investigate the matter for their hosts, and maybe, just maybe, there is a chance for love to triumph at last.

Although the pace is somewhat slow, Ms. Hendrickson eschews clichis to build a refreshing relationship between her finely wrought characters. (Feb., 218 pp., $4.99)
