The last thing Shannon Vaughn expected was finding herself in a life-or-death situation when she goes to Florida for her mother's wedding. Shannon's sister, district attorney Natalie Vaughn, had been the catalyst for bringing down an important figure in the criminal world. Now the criminal's sister is determined to destroy Natalie's family and she's targeting Shannon first. Natalie's husband sends private detective Michael Courtland to watch Shannon. What follows in Dangerous Passions (3) by Brenda Harlen is a race to protect Shannon and bring down the bad guys before anyone else is killed. Shannon and Michael's attraction is instant and brings a few complications into their affair that aren't explained until further into the story, making it seem as though it's an afterthought. Still, this is a good afternoon read.
