Readers first met Rob Thorton in Couper’s “Triple Dare”, part of the Red Hot Winter anthology. He did not seem as affable there as in this story. Rob, a thrill-seeker, is more mature and vulnerable and ready to take risks on important things like love. Couper creates a strong set of primary and secondary characters wrapped in a fast-paced story. The loves scenes are sensual, inventive and emotionally charged.

Rob Thorton was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. However, his “never say die” attitude has led him to an alternative cancer clinic where he meets the starchy Emily Knox. After his treatment proves successful, Rob heads back to Australia. As an oncologist, Emily got Rob back on the road to health, but her professional integrity is tested because of her attraction to him. When he returns home, Emily realizes that she wants to explore what they have together. Will Rob open his heart to Emily after she’s seen him at his weakest? (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $3.50)
