THE DARK AND HOLLOW PLACES
by Carrie Ryan

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal

RT Rating

Book three in The Forest of Hand and Teeth series takes readers to the Dark City. In this one-sitting page-turner that’s sometimes genuinely scary, Ryan takes readers on a thrill ride that will leave them with hope for the characters.

Annah is barely eking out an existence in the Dark City, mourning the twin sister she hasn’t seen since they were 5 and waiting for Elias to return from his stint in the Recruiters. Then she sees her twin from a distance, loses her in a crowd, finds Elias again and meets the fascinating but secretive Catcher — just before a horde of zombies storms the city. A desperate struggle to survive ensues, but if they do live through this, what’s next? (DELACORTE, Mar., 384 pp., $17.99, ISBN: 9780385738590, HC, 12 & Up)
