Druid healer Sonya flees the MacLeod castle, believing she has lost her magic. Broc, a warrior created by Druids, has always loved Sonya and goes after her. He finds her barely alive. As she recuperates she tells him why she fled, but Broc still feels her magic. When Broc is captured by the evil Deirdre’s minions, Sonya knows she must save him. She causes a distraction and she and Broc escape to an ancient tomb where an artifact is being held. She admits her love for him but they must unearth the artifact and keep it from Deirdre’s clutches. (ST. MARTIN’S, Feb., 412 pp., $7.99)
