Book Review

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy
Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

Showalter's darkly dangerous Lords of the Underworld trilogy, with its tortured characters, comes to a very satisfactory conclusion. While the tone of these books has been dark and tormented, the possibility of hope and redemption keeps them from becoming depressing. Showalter's compelling universe contains the possibility of more stories to be told.

Trapped between the proverbial rock and a hard place, Reyes -- who
is inhabited by the demon Pain -- is being forced to choose between his life-long friend, Aeron, and the woman he's obsessed with, Danika Ford.

Aeron has been commanded by
the gods to kill Danika and her family, but so far Reyes has managed to prevent it. When Danika is captured by the Hunters, Reyes can no longer stay away. Why is it so imperative that she be killed? To save the woman he is growing to love, Reyes will have to
find out. (HQN, Jul., 384 pp., $6.99)
