Book Review

DARKNESS UNKNOWN
by Alexis Morgan

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

Another worthy addition to the Palladin series, this story features a nicely developed relationship with a welcome lack of gory battle scenes. While reading previous books is not required, frequent references to other stories will propel you to your bookstore.

When Gwen pulls Jarvis' half-dead body from a stream near her farm, she notices his wounds are healing as she watches. Since her brother has the same ability, she doesn't take Jarvis
to the emergency room, figuring he would like privacy to recover. And he may be able to answer her questions about her brother Chase.

Jarvis gets a jolt when he wakes up
to a lovely caregiver who's not freaked out by his abilities, and an even bigger shock when he sees Chase. The teen is a ringer for a dead Palladin, and about to mature into one himself. Jarvis is torn. He really likes Gwen, but how can he reconcile romancing her with taking Chase away to a life of fighting until death? Can he quiet his conscience long enough to grab a taste of the only peace he has ever known? (POCKET STAR, Feb., 384 pp., $6.99)
