Torture and captivity are two things Ivy's newest protagonists have in common in the latest Guardians of Eternity tale. You can see why Ivy is known for creating spunky heroines who face adversity straight on and don't back down easily. Add in sexy and powerful warriors, and you have a recipe for paranormal romance at its best.

Having survived centuries of torture, vampire Jagr now spends his time alone with his library. But Jagr still has responsibilities, so when the Anasso Styx sets him on a mission, Jagr has little choice but to comply. When another
of Styx's wife Darcy's stolen pureblood were sisters has been located, it's up to Jagr to bring her back.

Having spent her life being tortured and caged by a nasty imp, Regan has only one thing on her mind -- revenge. But there are other players in this drama, and they want to get their hands on Regan badly. It's up to Jagr to make sure they don't, but that won't be easy! (ZEBRA, Nov., 384 pp., $6.99)

This Guardian Has Been Lonely Too Long!

Not being familiar with the author, I picked this book up on a whim from the local library's book sale shelf. It has been on my TBR shelf for a while now; so I thought, eh, why not. WOW! It should come with a warning label. CAUTION: Events that occur may lead to spontaneous combustion.

Regan Garrett, pure blood Were, is all set on revenge (and freedom) after 30 years of imprisonment. She doesn't need help from anyone, let alone a centuries old vampire. Jagr, under orders from his King, to find Regan and return her to her sister. Since he agreed not to harm Regan, how will Jagr get her to surrender?

Great story telling with well developed characters. Just a few: Styx, Viper, Tane, all vampires. Darcy, the wife of Styx and Regan's sister. Salvatore, King of the Werewolves. And Levet, cute, miniature gargoyle. The bad guys to: Caine, Duncan, Sadie.

And wouldn't you know it ~~ I started with Book 5 of the series. On to Book 1.
