DASH AND LILY’S BOOK OF DARES
by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

Beautifully, verbosely written, this love story will leave misfit English geek readers (including me!) longing for a bookish love affair (and a dog named Boris) of their own. Each chapter was written separately by the respective author, with no pre-planning, and so a suspenseful, almost tragic, novel was born.

To those that know them only on the surface, Lily and Dash are as different as can be. But when Dash accepts the dares he finds in Lily’s red notebook, they will reveal only to each other how much more there is to their personalities. So begins a Manhattan game of truth or dare. Their search will lead them from Macy’s the day before Christmas to a dingy underground dive bar at 4 a.m. When they finally meet, will their in- person selves get along as well as their notebook-selves?
