Book Review

by Wendy Roberts

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller

RT Rating

Tabitha Emery is a clairvoyant
whose talent leads her and friends
Jenny, Lara and Cathy into the occult. What starts as fun becomes scary when they find a mutilated cat in a blood-
filled pentagram.

Tab is also freaked by the male prospects in her life. Her boss, gorgeous lawyer Clay Sanderson, has a pregnant girlfriend, but his kisses set her on fire. And she suspects the mysterious Lucien of murder. Then she correctly predicts a crime and winds up a murder suspect.

Red Dress Ink recently began publishing chick lit mysteries and Roberts' installment nicely balances the suspense with chick lit formula. She includes humor, belly laughs, a touch of sadness, the camaraderie found only among close friends and an interesting plot of murder and the occult in this well-crafted debut. (Feb., 304 pp., $12.95)
