After a nearly career-ending injury, CIA agent Jake Halsey is sent to Salt Lake City to recuperate. Eager to get back to work and rescue his missing stepmother, Jake is angry at being sidelined. He starts to for-get about his anger, however, when he's approached at his temporary job as a genealogist by attorney Maggie McFarland, who's been searching for her younger
sister, who was kidnapped from her
family's home as an infant. Rebecca Winters' dialogue and characters in The Daughter's Return (4.5) are so well-developed, and her story so compelling, you'll not only read the book nonstop from beginning to end, you'll want to share it with friends too.
