dramatic end. Blackstock is absolutely masterful at bringing spiritual dilemmas to the surface and allowing readers to wrestle with them alongside her characters. This is a fitting conclusion to this unique series.

The Pulses that have wreaked havoc on the world and caused a global power outage are finally coming to an end. Thirteen-year-old Beth Branning witnesses a murder on the day the banks re-open. The killer gets a good look at her, and now Beth is frightened to tell what she saw and equally terrified to go out in public. Can the Branning family face this crisis like they've faced the rest?
