Book Review

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD
by Bettye Griffin

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Multicultural

RT Rating

Television magazine reporter Skye Audsley is appalled by the dreadful
conditions and near-destitute people he meets while on assignment in Farmingdale, Illinois. All her life Cornelia "Hatch" Hatchet has sacrificed to help her family. Growing up in a poor rural town outside of Chicago, she has resigned herself to the fact that her circumstances probably won't change—until the day she meets Skye.

Faced with the dilemma of finding someone to assist him in caring for his elderly grandmother, Skye believes that Hatch might be the solution.

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD was more like a mainstream fiction novel than a romance. I would have enjoyed the novel more, had the unconvincing attempt at romance not been made and the author stuck simply to writing about Hatch's interesting attempt to improve her life. (Aug., 288 pp., $6.99)
