Gray’s latest novel introduces the Keim family in a new series. Readers will feel Viola’s struggles as she tries to do what is right for her family. Viola and Ed’s relationship is written in a rather simplistic manner, but feels genuine.
The Keims are a tight-knit Amish family, who count on Viola to support them. Viola’s twin sister and father both need medical help, so Viola gets a job working at a retirement home. While there, she meets Edward. He is a missionary in Nicaragua, and Viola feels like any future with him would mean abandoning her family and the only life she knows. Will she be able to leave them all behind for her own happiness? (AVON INSPIRE, Feb., 272 pp., $12.99)
