D.B. Hayes, Detective (4.5) doesn't have a long line of clients knocking on her door. In fact, she only has two. One is a 10-year-old with a missing cat, and the other is a wealthy mobster with a cheating wife. Both cases are proving difficult. The cat's gone into hiding and the adultery case pits her against her competition, sexy Brandon Kirkpatrick—the cheating wife's P.I. A smart, sassy heroine dealing with a continuous string of laugh-out-loud dilemmas makes Dani Sinclair's latest a roller-coaster ride. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and the mystery is delightfully bizarre.
