Book Review

by Mary Burton

Genre: Romantic Suspense, General Romantic Suspense
Sensuality: MILD

RT Rating

While the romantic plot doesn't take hold until late in the game, this is a compelling and perfectly plotted page-turner. Burton skillfully layers her characters' storylines and motivations. Readers will be satisfied with Jacob's and Kendall's growth and ultimate romance.

Women are turning up
dead all over Henrico County, and every one of them resembles TV
anchorwoman Kendall Shaw. Homicide detective Jacob Warwick recognizes
the similarity from the first body and feels compelled to protect the nosy reporter.

Kendall is familiar with violence, having been held hostage and shot by Jacob's adoptive father only a year ago. Jacob was there to save her that time, but when she gets too close to the truth, will he be able to save her again? (Zebra, Nov., 384 pp., $6.99)
