Intrepid reporter Amanda Roberts returns for another dose of adventure and mystery in author Sherryl Woods' latest release DEADLY OBSESSION.
As a newlywed, Amanda is still learning to adapt to married life and a ready-made family, which includes Pete, the abused runaway who has basically adopted Amanda and Joe. Family and children are much on her mind, so when Hamilton Kenilworth, attorney and scion of one of Atlanta's oldest families, requests her help in finding his missing daughter, Amanda is reluctantly intrigued. According to Hamilton, his wife Margaret has once again disappeared, taking their young daughter Lauren with her.
Amanda is puzzled why this wealthy, powerful, yet private man is willing to go to the press with his dilemma. Obviously there is more to this case than meets the eye.
Amanda does track down the missing mother and daughter, only to discover Margaret's murdered body lying on the floor. Who killed her and why? Hamilton Kenilworth seems the most likely suspect, but for some reason it doesn't ring true to Amanda, making her all the more determined to uncover the real story.
DEADLY OBSESSION is one of dynamic author Sherryl Woods' best efforts. This complex and intriguing novel brings a riveting sense of drama and emotion into a convoluted murder case. (May, 256 pp., $5.50)
