Deadly Obsession is a fast-paced, suspenseful read. The main characters are engaging and the details of the crimes and subsequent investigations are realistically portrayed. The scenes from the killer’s point of view, however, are not as convincing. The complexity of the suspense plot has enough twists to keep the reader involved, but it makes the antagonist a bit too cunning to be believable.

When NSA agent Lilly Carmichael returns to her hometown for the funeral of the aunt who raised her, she unknowingly enters a serial killer’s trap. Her former high school sweetheart, Braden Donnelly, is now the local sheriff and for the past year, a killer has been murdering people who have a personal connection to Braden. Soon he and Lilly discover that the connection to both of them and their past relationship is more involved than they first realized. (CARINAPRESS.COM dl $4.99)
