RT Rating

Brant has done it again. Fans of The Mindhunter series will be supremely pleased with the latest addition to the series, as Raiker Forensics’ team creator and leader moves to the forefront. Adam is a strong and enigmatic character and is well balanced with Jaid. She’s smart, strong and more than capable of handling a man like Adam.

FBI agent Jaid Marlowe knew that one day she’d have to face Adam Raiker, her ex-lover, again. Now she’s working with him on a case where top public officials are being murdered. The killer leaves a postcard labeled with one of the seven deadly sins. And someone is making it look like Adam is connected to the killings. Adam lives by a code, and that code means keeping emotions and personal connections out of investigations. But when Jaid is assigned to work with him, and keep tabs on him, Adam may find that breaking his own rules is the best mistake he can ever make. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Aug., 366 pp., $7.99)
