Scott gets better with each novel. Michaela is a strong and independent character with a good heart, the mystery is well plotted and Michaela's many possible love interests keep things lively. Readers will also enjoy learning about horses and the people who train and breed them.

In the second Horse Lover's
mystery, Michaela Bancroft searches
for the murderer of her friend, Audrey. Michaela's horse training business is going well, and she's off to the horse
races for the weekend with longtime friend Audrey. But they run into trouble there, and Audrey winds up dead -- strangled by a pair of horse reins. Michaela has a long list of suspects to check out, and finding the truth means getting close to the people in Audrey's life -- and even closer to a killer.
