DEATH WARMED OVER
by Kevin J. Anderson

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

Anderson’s worldbuilding skills shine through in his latest series, Dan Shamble, P.I. With this first book readers are introduced to a contemporary world where paranormal creatures live and work alongside regular humans. The pacing may be slow at times but, because the narrator is a zombie slowed down by his condition, it works. Readers looking for a mix of humor, romance and good old-fashioned detective work will be delighted by this offering.

Thanks to a rare concurrence of events dubbed “The Big Uneasy,” death isn’t an ending but a second chance at life for “unnaturals” like private investigator Dan Shamble. Together with his human partner, ghostly girlfriend and a politically incorrect cop, Dan’s determined to find out who killed him. Whether he’s trailing a suspect or reassuring a nervous vampire, Dan doesn’t let his condition get in his way, as he goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect and serve his unnatural clients.
