Light talent/magician Alice doesn’t have fond memories of Rainshadow Island — since it was where her now deceased marriage-of-convenience (MC) husband, Fulton Whitcomb, tried to kill her. Unfortunately Fulton’s mother, Ethel, believes Alice killed him. She has been harassing Alice and trying to destroy her life. Rainshadow Island is in deep trouble since two dangerous alien crystals went missing, igniting a paranormal storm. Drake Sebastian needs Alice’s help recovering the crystals and, as a bargaining chip, he offers her an MC with him to get Ethel off her back. Sadly, Alice’s second honeymoon is looking just as dangerous as her first! (JOVE, Sep., 368 pp., $7.99)
