THE DEEPEST WATER

Author(s):

When her novelist father, Jud Vickers, is murdered, Abby Connors has a hard time coping. Although she has support from her husband and her friends, Abby was emotionally dependent on her father. What makes matters worse is that he was killed at an isolated cabin and although the police are working on the case, theyre not holding out much hope.

As Juds only heir, Abby is in charge of getting his estate and affairs in order. This includes getting the novel he had recently finished ready for publication. As Abby begins to read the novel she realizes that the book may have foretold Juds death and if she follows the clues in it, she might uncover the truth behind the murder.

With her usual story-telling skill, Kate Wilhelm has created a suspenseful tale that will grip you from the first page to the last. Although some might find Abbys extreme devotion to her late father a little off-putting, the book is cleverly plotted and allows the reader to uncover the truth along with Abby.
